World's Best Electric Wood Chipper
IMPORTANT: The demand for our chipper has been unprecedented and we are now sold out. We hope to get more soon but they need to be manufacturered first and that can take some time. In the meantime, if you cannot wait for us, we recommend this chipper. It isn't as good as our's, but it is the next best thing if you need one now.
Dear Fellow Gardeners,

2.8 HP Electric Wood Chipper
There are lots of chippers and shredders on the market, you'll see them advertised on TV and at the store, but in many cases they're overkill for most of us. We're not cutting down a whole forest, we have our small suburban yards with vegetable and ornamental beds, and maybe a few trees. We get yard waste, of course, but not enough to justify a big thousand dollar or more machine.
Do we have to go without a chipper? No, not at all, now we can just get a small electric one, just the right size for a small residential yard.
Why should you get a chipper? Well, a chipper provides a way for you to better recycle your yard waste. Many cities and towns have yard waste collection, but using them robs you of precious and free organic matter and mulch for improving your garden and your soil, not to mention that you're then limited to certain set pickups during the year.
Adding decaying organic matter, also called compost, to your garden is one of the most beneficial things you can do. Key components of compost are green matter, and brown matter, and much more brown matter than green matter. People often compost their kitchen scraps, but that is all considered green matter, brown matter can be harder to come by. Shredded fallen leaves are good brown matter, but they're seasonal. Shredded woody plant products are also a great source of brown matter, and they're readily available year round, if you have a shredder.
When you make your own compost you're getting a rich, organic, natural and powerful free fertilizer for your plants and garden. It is called garden gold for a reason, it really helps.
You can also use this chipper to make your own wood mulch. If you're just chipping wood branches you'll end up with wood chips that can then be composted of course, or simply spread on top of your soil in your garden beds as mulch. Mulch is a great natural way to keep weeds down, keep moisture in, promote organic matter and good soil organisms, and regulate soil temperature, all of which helps plants. People with larger garden beds can easily go through hundreds of dollars of much a year, but by chipping your own you can cut into that expense.
