What you can shred with our Electric Wood Chipper
Your new electric wood chipper can help in a variety of tasks around the yard. You may not think you need a chipper, or would get much use out of it, if you have a small yard, but you can chip far more than just the occasional branch from a tree.
| Rose Canes. When You're pruning your roses you can take the old unproductive canes and chip them up and add the chips to your garden or your composter. | ![]() |
| Raspberries. Raspberry canes remain productive at most one or two years, then they need to be cut back, shred those stems up for some good brown material for your compost pile. Of course this works for blackberries as well. | ![]() |
| Grape Vines. Grape and other types of fruit vines require frequent pruning, you can shred the pruned off sections with the electric wood chipper. Good for grape, kiwi, or flowering vines like trumpet flower or wisteria. | ![]() |
| Sunflower Stalks. Sunflower stalks grow in just one year, but they get large and woody, put that cellulose to work in your compost tumbler by running them through the chipper first. | ![]() |
| Corn Stalks. Corn stalks end up rigid at the end of the season, and many people use them for decorations in the fall, but when you're done with them, use the chipper to cut them down to size. | ![]() |
| Daylily Stems. Stems (scapes) from daylilies and other perennials get hard and woody and can be chipped up for composting or mulching. | ![]() |
| Lily Stalks. It isn't just daylilies, lilies too, with their woody stalks left sticking up after the season is over, can be chipped up and recycled in your garden. | ![]() |
| Bush Trimmings. Lots of bushes get cut back hard, sometimes to the ground, yearly. And some just get regular heavy pruning. Hydrangeas, butterfly bushes, elderberries, viburnum, the list goes on and on. All those woody trimmings can be chipped and recycled. | ![]() |
| Branches. And of course, branches. Whether you have storm damage and branches littering your yard, or you've pruned a few of your trees, the branches that are 1.5 inches thick or less can go through the chipper to be used as mulch or for making compost. | ![]() |
